Air-conditioned Wilderness
I am currently attending a conference at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee, Florida. Once I get back to Miami I'll write more about it, but here's the short version: I feel like I'm staying in one of the domed forests from Silent Running.
It's pleasant enough, in a Splenda kind of way, but still somehow disturbing.

I guess that mans that it leaves you with a bit of an after-taste? Or maybe it causes cancer in rats if they book a room form more than a year? BTW: Silent Running was one of my favorite movies, way back when. Peter Schickele, world renknowned archeological musicologist and expert on composer PDQ Bach, wrote the soundtrack for this one. (Unless, there's another Peter Schickele?)
wow. i'm impressed.
I dare you to try to find some privacy in that place. I visited the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville in August (booked my room too late to stay at the hotel) and hated the feeling of being under glass. I'd catch myself feeling like I was outside until I noticed a catering or lighting crew out of place. Not a fun feeling. Strangely enough, it made being outside feel like being inside.
I'm glad your home's inside will be closer to worthy of your return. Bleach is your friend! :)
