Say hello for Tropical Storm Alberto, the first Atlantic sector tropical cyclone of 2006 to get a name.
It doesn't look as though Alberto is any threat to South Florida, I'm still impressed that we managed to get something to Tropical Storm status just eleven days into the season. If it manages to turn into a hurricane on Saturday, I'll win the Stuck on the Palmetto Blowin' in the Wind contest, too! Fat chance of that, though; by Saturday it'll just be a warm breeze in Providence.

Remember, mkh, the winner is the person whose guess is closest to the date the first hurricane forms. So even though you may not hit it exactly, there's a chance you may still win.
Although you do get a $20 bonus for guessing the exact date.
