Better late?
The concierge at the hotel and the instructors at the training facility agreed that we needed to leave the hotel at 3pm to have a decent chance of making a 7:30pm flight, to account for the rush hour traffic and the long security checkpoints at the airport. So we dutifully started our southbound trip at 3:00.
Of course, now I'm sitting in the Atlanta airport, with still another hour to kill before they start boarding the plane. We've already wandered around through the shops and had a bite to eat at Chili's, and so now we're reading the books we had saved for the flight. Ah, well, better this than running full-tilt through the concourse carrying all my gear begging for them to hold the gate just another minute.

You never know with ATL. I went through there today with absolutely no problem at around 1:15 and caught a 2:50 down to FLL.
On the other hand, I've gone out on a Thursday morning and had the screening line go through the food court.
Go figure.
Of course, better late!
the chili's great in the ATL airport, isn't it?
I've lost between five and ten pounds in the last year or so. My April flight to Arizona was my first since Nine-Eleven. They made me take off my belt before going through the metal detector. So there I am, standing there with one hand holding up my pants, telling them I'm sorry; that I didn't know that the laptop should come out of the bag and it's no trouble that they have to search the whole case and then having to try to get my shoes back on without my pants falling down.
I'm thinking of getting a belt with plastic buckle, just for travel.
