On the radio
"I'd say the audio-video ratio of podcasts is 10-to-1. It's still so much easier to create audio than video, and people have much more time in their day to listen than to watch. You can listen while driving. You lose viewers really fast when they watch while they're driving."
I have a quick question for you today. Do you listen to podcasts?

Nope. I don't think I've ever listened to one.
Oh lord no -- I have a hard enough time quieting the voices in my head!
Good question actually. Seriously, no .. I don't. But I've been told by a few who are fanatical about the phenomenon of podcasting that it's the 'new black,' of blogging and that anyone who blogs who doesn't jump on that bandwagon is going to be left behind. (Which is interesting, considering our community's recent discussion lately of Do Miamians read blogs?) I think in reality it's the 'new black' of folks who want to speak or show their thoughts rather than to write about them. Different strokes for different folks, that's all.
I would have to be introduced to such a great podcast that I can't do without it ... otherwise I doubt I will ever get into it. But who knows? Ideally, it would be something that you can listen to while driving or doing chores around the house. I can't listen to words when writing -- only music -- if anything. Otherwise, nothing.
sometimes - listened to Amy Sedaris the other day....
Nope...not unless I read something that specifically points me to one. However, I don't have an iPod, so I can only listen online. I tend to prefer video...it keeps my attention longer, even if sometimes I only listen to the audio on the video (and do other things at the same time).
No.
I used to listen to "I Should Be Writing" by Mo Lafferty. I really need to get back to listening to that one. Other than that, not really. My room mate is OBSESSED with some sci fi, and a Joss Whedon podcast. If I ever get like her someone please shoot me.
Yep.
Penn Jillette.
Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.
Le Show.
Stephanie Miller.
The Official LOST Podcast (i know, i know....)
They Might Be Giants.
no.
no
No, mainly out of an ignorance about the topic that I'm too lazy to remediate.
Absolutely.
I'll listen to the podcast of an NPR show if I missed it on the radio and it covered something I really wanted to hear. Of course, with no iPod or other portable MP3 player I have to listen on my computer.
On the video side I have become obsessed with Ze Frank's "The Show," a five days a week vlog that covers Sports Racers, The League of Awesomeness, Dirty Space News, assorted humorous takes on national and international news, Earth Sandwiches, Duckies, and strange experiementation with comment buttons and viewer run wikis. Ze's using wikis right now to play a game of chess with his viewers and has some segments of his Friday show written via viewer wikis.
Sorry about the extended plug, but hey, I warned you I was obsessed.
Yes!
no - but i must be the only 32 yr old who doesnt own an ipod in america, though i did buy one for husband as a wedding gift - hid it real well so he wouldnt find it - and inadvertantly threw it out during a freaking out cleaning spree immediatly upon return from honeymoon....stupid me....
