The contrarian approach
Play with it a few minutes, and patterns emerge. Philosophy and postmodern literary criticism oppose chic lit, popular thrillers and the young adult section. Programming does not truck with classic literature. Memoirs of depression, like Prozac Nation, meet their match in the cheery The Night Before Christmas. Ann Coulter and David Sedaris do not see eye-to-eye.
LibraryThing introduces the UnSuggester, a way to find books you'll hate based on the libraries of LibraryThing members. Of course, if you are one of those positive, cheery folks, you'll prefer their BookSuggester.

I typed in The Great Gatsby, and all the unsuggestions were Christian theological texts. Does this mean there's something un-Christian about Gatsby, do you think? Or maybe the only people who don't love that novel are religious fundamentalists who don't read novels?
Also, no unsuggestions yet for Vamos a Cuba.
I forgot to tell you: check out www.swapthing.com!
