No cigar
While there is a new steel door in place, the workday ended before the guys could get the project completed. Therefore I will be taking my third vacation day tomorrow so that they can reinstall the locks and my alarm. Yes, that's right: I'll actually have less security tonight than I had last night.
Well, it's an educational process, anyway.

Somehow, my only thought is "Typical contractor bullshit."
I've hung a door, frame and all. It does NOT take all day. It takes a couple hours, which leaves plenty of time for putting in the locks and hooking up the alarm.
Contractor bullshit. Poor you.
To be fair, I was out there with the guys a lot of the day, and they worked pretty hard. After all, they had to remove the old door and frame, use a concrete saw to enlarge the doorway and cut through the tile on the steps, bolt in the steel frame, and hang the door. And working with industrial-grade steel takes a lot of precision.
Will that new steel door have a peep hole?
It will when they are done.
What about a poop deck? Yardarm? Crow's nest? If it takes this long, you might as well work in some custom features.
you can always come live in the hood with me and vikki----i have a steel door , he's called mister magnum---357.it's better than the shotgun dad offered you. at least i'll be the one holding it. i have better aim!!!
Hey, we don't need super heroes in my neck of the woods. As long as I have my trusty L. Slugger, just call me Batman.
