Back-up plan
"I'm on the phone with Delta. They says if you've lost your driver's license you can still go through security but you need other ID."
"Okay, what kind of ID?"
"...(hang on, I'm on hold while they check)..."
"Oh, this isn't good. You need a Social Security card..."
"Got it."
"...and a Voter Registration card."
"Okay, got it."
"What, you have those with you?"
"Yes, I do."
"What kind of freak carries those around with them? All I have is a credit card and a license."
"The kind of freak who will be getting back on the plane tomorrow after all."
"Let's hope they're right."

That's interesting, Alesh. I wonder what would happen if you used a photocopied and laminated passport to go through airport security.
Actually, I have all three with me pretty much all the time -- voter card, SS card AND Passport. I figure I might need to make a quick exit one day.nyavdf
When I went to Europe with my parents last spring we did the passport photocopy thing. It wasn't even laminated but it worked.
I tried to cash a client's check once at Bank of America and they refused because I only had my d.l. It is their policy for you to have two picture IDs if you are not an account holder, even if they take your thumbprint.
So I told the teller, why t.f. would I walk around in my own country with my passport? And what other picture ID would I have?
... which is why I STILL carry my university ID, b/c it has my picture. Ridiculous!
Also, I carry my voter registration on me, too, but not my SS card b/c if my wallet gets stolen with that in it, I'm f'ed. I keep that in a safe...
