Look, over there!
- Steampunk, for those unfamiliar with the term, is the blending of modern science-fiction motifs with Victorian technology and mindset. These illustrations by Eric Poulton reimagine a Steampunk Star Wars.
- I am not generally a fan of marketing gimmicks. However, the Caveman's Crib site building on the characters introduced in the Geico commercials is nicely done, and pretty funny. Perhaps it has something to do with the development of those characters into a TV series.
- Texamericana is a CD distributor with a twist: every CD they sell donates at least one dollar to the radio station of your choice. Most of the contributing artists have a folk bent to them, but there's a pretty wide range, including Willie Nelson, Michelle Shocked, the Asylum Street Spankers, and Speech (formerly of Arrested Development). I picked up a few, and made a $12 donation to WLRN without it costing me anything extra.
