Oscars and Oscarology
Frankly, the idea of using the Hollywood stars to predict the future makes as much sense as using the astronomical stars, so I'm rather taken with Oscarology. Of course, having my "sign" be the Shirley MacLaine/Jack Lemmon classic The Apartment doesn't hurt any.
The Apartments are likable, easy-going, and accommodating... sometimes to a fault. They dislike confrontation, and will go to great lengths, even sacrificing their own comfort, to smooth over awkwardness and conflict. However, they also have affectionate and romantic natures, which often inspire them to be more courageous and principled than they might otherwise be. They are fond of games of chance, which they often form sentimental attachments to.
And speaking of the Academy Awards, I'm going to run my Oscar prediction contest again this year. Money's tight so there won't be any prizes beyond bragging rights for guessing the most winners. Should you be interested, the ballot is over here. I'll take the form down before the award show starts, assuming the writer's strike has been settled and the show does, indeed, go on.
At this writing my viewing of the nominated films is at an all-time low: three, to be precise, and that includes having half watched half of Transformers during lunch breaks at work. But I am on vacation next week, and hope to see at least three more films then.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I'm a "Midnight Cowboy" but I don't think the description is all that accurate. Oh well.
My friends and I are going to one of the marathon "See all 5 Best Picture Nominees in One Day" sort of events next month.
I have no idea if I have the attention span for that, but since it's essentially 5 movies for the price of three, I won't feel too bad if I spend some of the time spaced out.
Hmm. I'm a Godfather Pt. II.
Better not tell my brother.
I love The Apartment. Got the DVD and everything.
